HOLMES CAMP & RETREAT CENTER IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THE OPENING OF OUR PASTORAL RESPITE SPACE, MADE POSSIBLE BY A GENEROUS GRANT.
OPENING FALL 2024
Holmes is grateful for the leadership, sacrifice, and service pastors, elders, missionaries, and others serving in ministry share with their churches and communities. In honor of that service, and in alignment with our core values of Faith, Hospitality, and Rest, Holmes offers free respite and personal sabbath lodging.
To start, free respite lodging will be available to:
- Those serving in full-time ministry.
- Those engaged in professional ministry, chairs of session, and retired Teaching Elders within the Presbyteries of Long Island, Hudson River, and New York City.
- Reservations may include spouses and dependent children under the age of 18.
- Lodging may be reserved up to 2 nights per calendar year, subject to availability.
- Free respite stays are not available during any Holmes Camp & Retreat Center programmed event, or in conjunction with other individual or group reservations.
- Meals are available for $10 per person/per meal when the dining room is open and operating, and must be reserved in advance.
- Stays for individuals and couples will typically be in the Pastoral Apartment at the Agape Center. Stays for families will typically be in the Hayden or Steidl cabins.
- Trails and picnic areas are always available, and there a variety of cultural, historical, and outdoors attractions near Holmes Camp & Retreat Center
- Check-in is from 1:00-3:00 PM, and checkout is by 10:00 AM. Extended check-in hours and late departures, when available, must be arranged in advance.
